Christmas fair season - Drink some hot wine punch at Berlin's Gendarmenmarkt!

 

There are a few popular Christmas fairs in Berlin. My personal favorite is located at Gendarmenmarkt, near Friedrichstraße. I really like this market, because it's not that big and touristy as the one at Ku'damm and some others located in Berlin. Sourrounded by big buildings (Konzerthaus Berlin = Concert House Berlin etc.) the Christmas fair Gendarmenmarkt is impressive and beautiful. Admission price is 1 Euro. Opening hours are from 11 am to 10 pm.

You can get a cup of hot wine punch for an amount of 3 Euro, yum yum dainties and nice goods, like wool slippers, candles, wooden stuff and so on. 

I'm totally fallen in love with this nougat stall. Visit the Christmas fair to get some sweet - or the website from Nougateria ... but don't miss!

The Christmas fair Gendarmenmarkt has a programm, which includes bands and other artists and they do have a stage for this performers. The atmosphere is friendly and silent. If you're going to visit Gendarmenmarkt or any other Christmas fair, honestly: wear a warm jacket, maybe a cap, scarve and gloves - it's chillingly!
